I forgot my username/password. What should I do?

Click on the 'log in' link up the top of the page on the right. You will get to a page asking you to log on. On this page there will be a 'forgot username/password' link. Click on that and follow the instructions.

You shouldn't just sign up for a new account.

Do I have to log in to the site every time I visit?

Generally, yes. If you are part of the Revival Fellowship, logging in allows you to access sections that only people in the RF can see. If you don't want to access these sections, there is no need to log in.

Why can't I chat or play bible trivia?

First of all you need to be logged in. It is not possible to use chat/bibletrivia without a username, and this requires you to first be logged in.

To play using your web browser requires that your computer has a Java Runtime installed on it. A plugin can be downloaded from www.java.sun.com, however the majority of computers should already have it installed.

Both Chat and Bibletrivia require you to connect on port 9412. If you are behind a firewall that has this port blocked, you need to open this port or you won't be able to connect.

Why can't I see any announcements?

Well, there may not be any current announcements, so in that case, there are none to see. However, most announcements are again only viewable by people that are part of the Revival Fellowship, and in that case you need to have signed up to the site, been approved as being part of the fellowship, and then have logged in to the site.

Can you make the website have feature X?

Yes I can. When? Sometime in the future. If you would like a feature added, post a message in the 'website' forum.

How come I can't see any photos or access the store, or see the forums?

To access the photos, use the store, or participate in the forums, you need to log in and also be a member of the Revival Fellowship. There will be extra menu items available on your left. If you are a Revival Fellowship member, and you do log in, but don't get any extra menu items, you probably signed up incorrectly, and will need to contact the website administrator.

Why am I getting an 'unauthorised' message on some pages when I am already logged in and should be able to see that page?

Your browser may not have cookies allowed for this site. If you aren't sure how to allow cookies, you can play with your browser preferences until you figure it out, or alternatively ask someone that knows more about computers than you do.

Sometimes if maintenance is being done on the server, all current log-ins may be cancelled, and you will need to be log in again.

How come sometimes I can't connect to the site and it times out

There may be the possibility that during extremely high traffic to the site, that connection may be impossible. Just try again in an hour or so.

At times computer equipment can be faulty, or there may be problems with the server ISP, or with your own ISP. It's virtually impossible to achieve 100% uptime on any site, as ISP's often do routine maintenace, making pages appear offline. These problems however, should be quite rare, and the site should be up around 99.9% of the time.

How do I stop getting emails about the weekly site activity?

First, log in to the site using your username and password. Then click on the 'My Account' link up the top of the page. There you will be able to configure your email settings.

I have signed up for emails from this site, yet I never seem to get any. Why?

Many email clients (such as Hotmail) have built-in spam filters. It is most likely that the emails being sent from the site are being marked as spam, and being moved to a Junk Mail folder. You need to configure your email client to accept messages from BRFEmailer@brf.org.au

Some ISP's and large corporations have spam filters built in to their mail servers. If your ISP/corporation mail-server thinks email being sent from this site is spam, then often it will just delete the mail, and it will never reach your inbox. If this is the case, you can talk to your ISP/corporation and ask if they can allow email from BRFEmailer@brf.org.au to reach you.

Why do I get two copies of every email from the site?

You've probably signed up for an account TWICE. The server will send out emails to everyone that has an account. If you have signed up twice, you have two accounts, and will probably get two emails. You should email admin@brf.org.au and ask to have one of your accounts removed.

You may get two emails on occasion when daylight savings clicks over. The server is operating at Brisbane time, but sometimes when daylight changes occur (once a year or so), the system could send out an email twice.

Who wrote the FAQ on those Bible topics?

I'm not sure. Most of it is taken from the F.A.Q on a great Revival Fellowship Testimony site called Miracles Still Happen. It seems to have been decommissioned now.
