Common to All
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
The letters to the New Testament churches only speak of one salvation, which was common to all of them... Jews and Gentiles alike. There is never any mention of a later anointing of the Spirit for those who were already 'saved', as many falsely claim today. Choosing 'Jesus as your saviour' is not salvation... it is God's choice to respond to us: when our heart is right with him... when we are repentant enough for him to work with us. Baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs when water baptism and/or prayer to receive the Holy Spirit is pursued... God chooses the time, not us. Being filled or anointed with the Spirit occurs when the power of God comes into our body, with God given signs following. The only biblical distinction made between saved people, relates to their willingness to comply to the will of God or not. Like today, the bible writers also faced similar corruptions to the common salvation and found it needful to remind their people of God's truth.
The Price Has Been Paid Regardless
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
The Abrahamic based (single God of bible fame) religions of this world, make up nearly half the worlds population. Christianity 2.1 billion, Islam 1.5 billion and the Jewish faith 14 million. Most Christians are apostate in the sense that they don't rely upon the power of God which Jesus made available in their daily lives. Islam agrees that Jesus lived, but don’t respect nor understand the role that he offers this world; while the Jews comprehensively deny the person of Christ and the New Testament writings that resulted from his ministry. These religions offer many false choices when it comes to salvation and Godly living; but as a rule, they don’t accept nor take advantage of the price Christ paid for them. The complete Bible offers Christians doctrine, in the same way that the Koran and Torah of the Old Testament, do for the Muslims and Jews. However doctrine without evidence or signs is merely a source of unproven opinions of historic origins. God's true church not only offers doctrine, but genuine, God given signs and wonders... this leaves man made doctrine exposed for what it is. As a rule, the three religious descendants of Abraham don't take advantage of the price Christ paid for them. Their church and faith is built upon doctrine without the visible power and working of the Holy Spirit... which power is still available regardless of their choices.
The Gifts of the Spirit Explained
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
This presentation promotes and reveals the relevant promises which God has made, to all those that will receive his salvation (the Holy Spirit). The Holy Spirit is that part of God which was promised to all those that would believe, and receive his Gospel. This Spirit is the same supernatural force that enabled all the miracles and wonders in the Old Testament, and was also the same source of power which Jesus used in his miracle packed ministry. The Holy Spirit is the promised gift of God, which will still be given to all those that will be obedient to the salvation Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Much More Than a Sign
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
It is not surprising that even from the days of Adam and Eve, that men and women have been looking for signs of God's existence and for the formula to have a quality relationship with him. Most of bible history is made up of men and women trying to secure a working relationship with the Lord. One of the most useful and common requirements was a sign... proof of supernatural life and relationships. God has been very obliging in this area, as he knows how confusing it can be for people to find him. The bible speaks of many signs, but there are some peculiar to the New Testament church and one in particular that occurs at salvation. This is very useful, because the religious claims made by large numbers of people are too confusing for most people to work out.

The Wind and the Spirt
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
The Spirit of God has intrigued mankind for around six thousand years and yet most people are still none the wiser to the fundamental principles involved. In Genesis 1:2 God sets the principle in action... "And the Spirit" (wind) "of God moved upon the face of the waters". Suddenly this breath of God is no longer just an inarticulate, blowing... it forms words. The same breath that produces wind, now creates language, just as our breath gets formed into words by our throat and tongue. "And God said"... is the Spirit's breath that articulates God's purpose. God speaks eight times and these eight sentences speak a world into being, the heavens and the earth, all the creatures and finally the first man and woman into which God breathes the breath of life... his own Spirit. First there is formlessness and chaos, then the breath of the Spirit speaks a new creation into being. This familiar pattern appears all through the Bible.
Our Church and What We Stand For
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Our church formed around sixty years ago during one of the early outpourings of the Holy Spirit in Australia. As time went by two distinct types of spirit filled groups formed. Some groups determined that believing or accepting Christ was New Testament salvation and that the anointing of the Holy Spirit was an optional extra. The others believed that the anointing of the Holy Spirit and water baptism was salvation and was evidenced by the prophesied sign of speaking in tongues (both groups adopted a large variety of beliefs, practices and prophetic understandings). Our church adopted the same belief that Peter spoke of on the day of Pentecost.
