Three Steps To Disaster
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 19/10/25. God created humanity for a purpose. He provided everything that was good for us physically, emotionally and spiritually. Because we were created with a free will, he also provided directions and warnings that would protect us from natural and spiritual harm (Genesis 3:1-24). Most people do not consider that we are primarily spiritual beings... our bodies are only vehicles for our souls. Scriptural References. The Power Of Forgiveness
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 05/10/25. Forgiveness is the most vital of all practices we both accept and exercise as Christians. Every day of our loves we receive or generate offences of one type or another... mistakes are made, advantages are taken, feelings are hurt. Unless these are dealt with effectively, our lives become negative and our joy and performance falters. Forgiveness is the capacity to remain in harmony with ourselves, with each other and God. Forgiveness is difficult if we are not sure of what God is offering and expecting. Forgiveness is not about making excuses, nor is it about condoning bad behaviour... it is a pardon, where blame and judgement are not enforced. Effective repentance frees our lives and the lives of others from shortcomings which can trouble our conscience and limit our peace and happiness. Scriptural References. The Urgent Need To Promote The Holy Spirit
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 21/09/25. The following scriptures make a clear case for the church to promote the anointing of the Holy Spirit as its first and most urgent priority. Many today are being side tracked by the need to have 'spiritual experiences', while the bible is more interested in getting people filled with the Spirit of God. Jesus Christ died and was resurrected so that the human race could have access to the life-giving powers of God. Jesus himself could not begin his ministry till he had the Holy Spirit within him... the infilling power and authority of God. Scriptural References. O Wretched Man That I Am
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 14/09/25. There is a focus point that all Christians should build their life on. None of us can attain perfection within our own right... nor with the natural skills or abilities within us. Our dependence on God's mercy and forgiveness is far greater than we think and far more effective than we may find comfortable. Paul's personal testimony of his life reveals how he moved from being a murderer of the saints, to a super spiritual person. Once he was nothing more than a natural person (like most Christians'): transformed into a spiritually successful person. Scriptural References. Getting Back In The Saddle
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 07/09/25. To 'get back into the saddle' means doing something that we have stopped doing. For most of history, horses were the prime means of transport. Horses can be challenging and the path can be full of obstacles... accidents happened frequently. Many lost their confidence from such mishaps and thus the term was coined. There is an obvious spiritual parallel. When we get back in the saddle... nothing has changed. Same horse (God), same saddle (Holy Spirit), same rider (born again)...confidence needs to be restored quickly. The Thief On The Cross - 25
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 10/08/25. The following discussion reveals that the scriptural process to save the thief was all but impossible... the simple process of comparing spiritual with spiritual reveals much more than personal preferences. One Of A Kind
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 29/07/25. Someone once said there are two types of people in the world... those who come into a room and say, 'Here I am!' and those who come into a room and say, 'Ah, there you are!' How different are those two approaches! One says "Look at me! I need attention"; The other says, "Tell me about yourself." One says, "I am important"; the other says, "You are important." One says, "The world revolves around me"; the other says, "You are important." Wouldn't it be great to be known as that second kind of person... others love to have around? Someone who displays the love of Christ openly and unashamedly? The New Testament gives us some practical suggestions about becoming the kind of person who demonstrates Christ's love. Scriptural References. Rom 12:10, Rom 14:19, 1Cor 12:25, Gal 5:13, Gal 6:2, Col 3:13, 1The 5:11, Jam 5:16.
God's Unfailing Compassion
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 27/07/25. These 3 attributes offered by God, turn the simplicity of mercy, compassion and forgiveness into a powerhouse of opportunity. God's intentions towards us are certainly not hidden or distorted when we have a good understanding of how God works and what his real nature is. Jesus' death and resurrection have opened the door to more blessing than ever. Greater Works
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brisbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 20/06/25. There is an intriguing scripture in the gospel of John that reveals that our works surpassing that of Christ's. 'John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto my Father'. It is interesting for two reasons... the first is the statement that we will have the potential to do the works of Christ (miracles)...and the second, which is the most amazing, reveals that we have the potential to do even greater works than Christ... how can that be? What is something that Jesus didn't do, or couldn't do while he was on earth as opposed to what we can do while he is in heaven? The best way to solve this problem is to look at the changes that occurred after he left. We don't need to go too far into the book of Acts to find the answer. Scriptural References. Joh 14:12, Act 2:33, Rom 3:10, Heb 7:19, 1Pet 4:10, Phi 2:4, Mat 25:34-41. The Everlasting Covenant
By Pastor Brad Smith [Brissbane]
Delivered by Pastor Brad Smith 15/06/25. The death and resurrection of Christ enabled God to introduce an far better covenant than the one it replaced. Our covenant begins with the personal anointing (indwelling) of the Holy Spirit. Due to the frailty of human beings, a system is also needed that can successfully deal with our future sins and shortcomings. To meet these needs, God introduced a covenant ruled by mercy and grace (MERCY = Not getting the judgement we deserve. GRACE = Getting forgiveness and blessing we don't deserve). Interestingly, God included one of the great, yet little understood blessings of the Old Testament for our ongoing benefit. This mechanism that keeps us free from our shortcomings is also referred to as 'the sure mercies of David'. These mercies are comprised of deliverance from our enemies and deliverance from ourselves... we no longer need to be victims to anything, especially sin. David's faith provided this covenant promise with God.
